FLAIRR and the Port Orange Depot Preservation Society join Mary Lilly to see the observation cars at the Root Family Museum of Arts and Science.
The Silver Holly observation dome car was built by Budd for the C&O Chessie that never materialized, sold to the D&RGW and then into private ownership. The Root Family traveled extensively in the Silver Holly before placing it into the museum.
Inside the Silver Holly Mark. Flagler finds a home on wheels down the hallway on the left side of the photo leads to bedrooms kitchen and restrooms. The stairs directly behind her lead to the dome for a panoramic view whil traveling.
The Milwaukee Road Sky Top Observation Car Dell Rapids is one of six built by the Milwaukee Road.
